Comenzando el año, mi mama me dio la mejor sorpresa de todas, un pasaje para volver a Texas a visitar a mis tíos. Con la diferencia de que mi mama, abuelo y tíos viajan al terminar el mes, ósea no iba a pasar sola. Este viaje fue especial porque fue la primera vez que pasaba mi cumpleaños lejos de mi casa, fue diferente además no era cualquier cumpleaños, eran mis 21 años, YA SOY LEGAL!
Por supuesto esta fue una experiencia diferente a la anterior. Desde que llegamos todo fue risas, comidas, bebidas y fotos. Pero como a mi familia le gusta viajar, decidimos hacer el mismo recorrido que yo hice la vez pasada para que ellos tengan la oportunidad de conocer nuevos lugares. El viaje aun no empezaba pero ya estábamos pensando en las 32 horas de viaje que teníamos que hacer, pero en realidad las horas no eran tan importantes, lo que importaba aquí era conocer y pasarla bien.
On the beginning of the year, my mom gave me the most amazing surprise, a ticket to go back to Texas to visit my family! With the difference that this time my mom, grandpa and uncles were joining me at the end of the month, so I would not be alone. This trip was special because it was the first time I spent my birthday away from home, and it’s not any birthday, it was my #21, I'm legal!
Of course this was a different experience from my last trip. Since we arrived everything was laughs, food, drinks and pictures. But since my family loves traveling, we decided to do the same road trip I did last time so they can have the chance to visit new places. The trip hasn’t started yet but we were already thinking about the 32 hour drive we had to do, but the hours didn’t really matter, what was important here was to have a good time and see new places.
Primera Parada: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Comenzamos el viaje, haciendo paradas pequeñas en gasolineras, tiendas y áreas de descanso. Parar en Cadillac ranch era obligatorio, me encanta tomarme fotos ahi. Unalegamos a New México un nuevo estado para mí, Alburquerque es la capital donde pasamos la noche, durmiendo en los carros y con un frio inexplicable. Después de unas cuantas horas de sueño, despertamos, desayunamos seguimos con el viaje.
First stop: Albuquerque, New Mexico
The trip started making small stops at gas stations, shops and rest areas. We had to stop at the cadillac ranch, I love taking pictures there A few hours later we arrived at New Mexico a state that I have never been to, Alburquerque is the capital, and here we spent a freezing cold night sleeping in our cars. After a few hours, we woke up, had breakfast and continued with the trip.
Segunda Parada: Laughlin, Nevada
Después de unas cuantas horas de viaje llegamos a Laughlin un sitio nuevo para mí, es como un mini Vegas. Con grandes casinos, hoteles temáticos y un lago enorme es atractivo para muchos turistas. Aquí solo tomamos fotos, recorrimos las calles principales y seguimos para LA.
Second stop: Laughlin, Nevada
After a few hours of traveling we arrived at Laughlin another place I haven’t been to it's like a mini Vegas. With large casinos, themed hotels and a huge lake that’s visited by many tourists. Here we only took pictures, we walked around the main streets and continued to LA.
Tercera Parada: Los Ángeles, California
Parece que habían pasado miles de horas hasta que por fin llegamos a LA. Lo primero que queríamos hacer cuando ya estábamos en camino al hotel era bañarnos y cambiarnos de ropa jaja. En la noche con un poco de frio, salimos a conocer LA, habían luces por todos lados y edificios que no tenían fin. Era como estar en una película o en el juego (GTA5) de mi novio jaja.
Al siguiente día salimos a conocer varios estadios, comenzando por el Stubhub Center (fútbol americano), El estadio de los Dodgers (Baseball) es el estadio más grande que he visto, y terminamos en el Staples Center. Caminando encontramos un bar en el que descansamos y mis tíos no desaprovecharon la oportunidad para tomarse un trago, como eran mis 21 el bartender me regalo mi “primer trago” jaja. Fuimos a Hollywood y en el paseo de la fama me tome fotos con Jack Sparrow. Conocimos el teatro Chino donde se estrenan la mayor parte de películas. En resumen, ¡pasamos un día increíble!
Third Stop: Los Angeles, California
It seemed like thousands of hours have passed until we finally got to LA. The first thing we wanted to do when we were on the way to the hotel was to take a bath and change clothes haha. At night with nice cold weather, we went out, there where lights everywhere and huge buildings. I felt like I was in a movie, or in the game (GTA5) my boyfriend plays haha.
The next day we visited several stadiums, beginning with the StubHub Center (Football), the Dodger Stadium (Baseball) is the biggest stadium I've ever seen, and we ended at Staples Center. While walking around we found a bar where we rested for a while and my uncles did not miss the chance to have a drink, since I was finally 21 the bartender gave me my "first drink" haha. We went to Hollywood and the Walk of Fame where I took pictures with Jack Sparrow. We also visited the Chinese theater where many movie premieres take place. In conclusion, we had an amazing day!
Cuarta Parada: Las Vegas, Nevada
Fueron como 5 horas de viaje cuando comenzaron aparecer los casinos, luces, y el ambiente único de Las Vegas. Nos hospedamos en un hotel cerca del Downtown de Las Vegas vieja, donde inicio Las Vegas. Este lugar es impresionante porque está cubierto con un tipo de techo que cubre toda la calle. En la noche este techito se enciende y da un espectáculo de luces, música, e imágenes. Caminando vi abuelitas bailando rock, cupidos, gatubelas, piratas, hombres en pañales de todo lo que normalmente se ve jaja.
Con relación a la vez pasada, creo que esta vez disfrute más, todos los días eran una locura porque dormía como a las 4am y despertaba a las 9am para seguir conociendo. Cuando fui al Boulevard de las Vegas (Vegas actual), Era como estar en Paris, Venecia, Monte Carlo, New York todo al mismo tiempo. Estuve en el hotel Stratosphere y subí al piso 114, ahí nos encontramos con una vista increíble de toda ciudad, era algo que ponía los pelos de punta porque todas las paredes eran de vidrio y a veces daba la sensación de que si mirabas para abajo te ibas a caer. Llegaba la noche y regresamos al hotel a empacar y prepararnos para el viaje de regreso del siguiente día.
Con relación a la vez pasada, creo que esta vez disfrute más, todos los días eran una locura porque dormía como a las 4am y despertaba a las 9am para seguir conociendo. Cuando fui al Boulevard de las Vegas (Vegas actual), Era como estar en Paris, Venecia, Monte Carlo, New York todo al mismo tiempo. Estuve en el hotel Stratosphere y subí al piso 114, ahí nos encontramos con una vista increíble de toda ciudad, era algo que ponía los pelos de punta porque todas las paredes eran de vidrio y a veces daba la sensación de que si mirabas para abajo te ibas a caer. Llegaba la noche y regresamos al hotel a empacar y prepararnos para el viaje de regreso del siguiente día.
Fourth Stop: Las Vegas, Nevada
It was about a 5 hour trip when suddenly casinos, lights, and the unique feel of Las Vegas began to appear. We stayed at a hotel near the Downtown of old Las Vegas, where Las Vegas started. This place is awesome because it has some kind of roof that covers the entire street. At night this huge roof lights up and gives a light show with music and images. While walking around I saw cupids, cat women, pirates, men in diapers, some grandmas dancing rock, just normal things you find in Vegas haha.
Compared to the last time I came, I think this time I enjoyed more, every day was like crazy because we slept at 4am and woke up at 9am to continue sightseeing. When I went to Las Vegas Boulevard (modern Vegas), it was like being in Paris, Venice, Monte Carlo, New York all at the same time. I was at the Stratosphere hotel and went to the 114th floor, here we had an unbelievable view of the whole city, it was something that gave us the creeps because there were glass walls everywhere and sometimes we had the feeling that if you looked down you would fall. When the night came we had to go back to pack and get ready to return to Texas the next day.
Al llegar a Texas teníamos sentimientos encontrados porque ya nos faltaba 1 semanita para volver a nuestro país. Por un lado feliz porque volvíamos a nuestros hogares, pero por otro lado íbamos a dejar tantos recuerdos en Texas.
Back in Texas we had mixed feelings because we were one week away from returning to our country. The good side was that finally we were going back home, but the bad part was we would leave so many memories in the US.
